
Members Advantage Credit Union is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1962 in Michigan City. In April of 2010, Members Advantage opened another branch in Portage. They offer a full banking experience and meet the needs of members in a friendly manner.
The following is an excerpt from an interview with Roxanne Cantrell, Branch Manager of the Portage office, and Frank Beachnau, President.
Who can become a member at Members Advantage?
We are locally owned so we provide service to anyone who lives, works or worships Lake, Porter, and La Porte Counties. Anyone that is a member can provide a voice in our company.
What are some of the different products and services you offer?
We offer full service banking with a variety of different products and services which include; Checking Accounts, Savings Accounts, Vehicle Loans, Real Estate Loans, First and Second Mortgages, Direct Deposit, Visa Credit Cards, Online Banking, and Online Billpay. We also provide shared branching, which offers members many convenient locations to perform transactions.
How is Members Advantage involved with their community?
We are very much involved with the Portage community. We provide sponsorships for the Portage High School Band, Portage High School Athletics, YMCA, Toys for Tots and organize food pantries. We are also members of the Portage Economic Development Corporation and the Chamber of Commerce.
